The strong, fresh flavour of the sprouts is given by the two oils, anethole and fenchone, contained in them. The medicinal properties of wild fennel are numerous and were known in ancient times, the most important being that it reduces the formation of intestinal gas and the resulting pains, aids stomach function and digestion, lowers cholesterol, has antioxidant, diuretic and antiseptic properties, as it helps restore the right bacterial flora.
HOW TO USE
place the frozen product in a cold pan with 20 ml of water per layer of vegetables, cover and cook over a moderate heat for 3 min. Remove the lid and cook for another 3 minutes.
